Educational Reforms in Sri Lankan Education

Educational Reforms play a major role in the development of a society. In Sri Lanka it is a much needed factor in present education system. Educational reforms are overdue in this country. Some of the problems which are facing today would have been avoided if we had introduced more efficient reforms decades ago. 

There is a wide gap between education, employment and economic development. Although we are in a knowledge based society, the contribution of the education to the work force is very low. 

Following are some of the key problems to be answered;

• Resource availability in rural schools

• Need of quality teachers and teaching methods

• The problem of school leavers 

• Socio economic problems
